​​The assessment process involves:

1. A 50 minute initial consultation to discuss your current concerns and gather relevant background information. During this appointment, we will decide which assessment (if any!) is best and explain what you and your child can expect, and how to prepare for the upcoming assessment(s). 

2. Contact school teacher and/or Learning & Support Team staff to gather relevant information and concerns (if necessary).

3. Assessment(s) administration. Cognitive and academic assessments are usually booked in 2-hour blocks and scheduled in the morning. These assessments are completed with only your child and the Psychologist in the room, to minimise distractions, however exceptions are sometimes made (this will be discussed in the initial consultation).

4. Assessments are scored and interpreted, and a comprehensive report with tailored recommendations is prepared.

5. A final feedback session 3 weeks following the completion of the final assessment. During this session, the results and recommendations are explained and parents are given an opportunity to ask any questions they may have.
